Frequently Asked Questions!
Where are you located?
Our home kitchen is based in Ballarat, 10 minutes from the centre of town. We also offer Melbourne pick-up which is available on Fridays and Saturdays.
How far in advance should I book my cake?
We love organisation over here, so my answer is the earlier the better. Some weeks will book up well in advance and we’d hate to crush your cake dreams so I would encourage you to book your cake as soon as you know when you’ll need it. In saying that, the minimum notice we require is 5 days.
Can I pick up my cake?
When you receive your booking confirmation you will receive a link to book a time to collect your cake. Our Ballarat pick-ups run Thursday through to Saturday and our Melbourne pick-ups are Friday and Saturday. If you don’t see any availability reach out and we will do our best to accommodate.
I can’t select delivery, is this an option I can add?
Yes! We have limited availability for deliveries but will always do our best to make it work. If you require delivery please reach out to us at info@liv-bakes.com with your proposed date and we will you advise if delivery is possible for your required date.
What are your terms and conditions?
Yes - all the fun legal stuff! You can find our terms and conditions here.
Do you make vegan cakes?
Unfortunately, no. Never say never but as of right now, we don’t make any vegan cakes.
Do you make gluten-free cakes?
We can make gluten-free versions of our cakes. However, please note there may be traces of gluten so if you are celiac I wouldn’t advise consuming one of our cakes.
What about other allergens?
Our kitchen contains traces of nuts, wheat, dairy etc. If you have strict dietary needs unfortunately I don’t think we’re the baker for you. In saying that, we can make eggless cakes and gluten-free cakes but again, our kitchen may contain traces of your allergen.
What are your cakes made with?
We have an ingredient breakdown for you! Click here to learn about all the deliciousness.
How do I transport my cake?
Your cake is best transported on the floor of your car. The best place is the passenger-side footwell, but the boot is also okay. You can have a passenger hold a smaller cake on their lap if you'd like as well. On sunny or warmer days we recommend putting the air conditioner on in the car to ensure the buttercream doesn’t melt. Do not place cake boxes on the car seat. Do not leave your cake in the car unattended, the car will heat up and your delicious cake will unfortunately melt.
What should I do if I have leftovers?
Firstly, you lucky duck! Secondly, your cake can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
